Chililabombwe Municipal Council wishes to inform all truck drivers, transport operators, logistics companies, and the general public that the parking of trucks along roadsides within Chililabombwe District is strictly prohibited with immediate effect.
All truck drivers are hereby directed to utilize the designated truck parking facilities within the district and refrain from parking their vehicles on roadsides, road reserves, and other undesignated areas.
Members of the public are advised that any truck found parked in contravention of this directive will be clamped and the owners or operators will be subjected to the prescribed fines and penalties.
This measure is in a bid to address concerns our truck drivers were subjected to such as lack of clean water and sanitation which subsequently posed health risks/hazards, road congestion and safety risks as well as security challenges.
The Council is committed to creating a safer and more organized urban environment and therefore calls upon all stakeholders in the transport sector to cooperate and comply with this directive.
